Title: Status of the Freshwater-To-Marine Continuum Representing NC Sounds

Description: In North Carolina, our coastal sounds are so strongly influenced by the upstream rivers, which in turn are strongly influenced by climatic changes taking place, such as stronger, wetter storms and protracted droughts.  Dr. Paerl will overview macro trends in water quality in the Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds and offer context regarding the impacts from our rivers that flow from our Piedmont communities, and explore the ways in which climate change has been driving those impacts.
