Approaching twenty years post-implementation of regulatory nutrient strategies intended to restore the Neuse and Pamlico estuaries, success has not been realized and the magnitude of this challenge has both become more apparent and likely increased through manifestations of climate change. Staff with the NC Division of Water Resources and invited guests will share findings from recent analyses of loading control progress, and shifts in impairment, drivers and sources, along with discussion of adaptive needs and prospects going forward.
